The Challenge
The Sandhills Global Youth Complex is an eight-field synthetic turf complex serving youth baseball/softball and Nebraska Wesleyan. The complex also provides an early-season practice venue for the University of Nebraska baseball program, which requires a synthetic surface during colder months when its home field at Haymarket Park is unavailable.
Given the scale of the project, careful planning and effective communication were essential to keeping it on schedule. With numerous playing surfaces to construct and a wide range of elements to complete, the project required coordination across several trades. The General Contractor and key stakeholders also recognized the importance of ensuring all fields had the highest quality base and drainage systems to secure the long-term durability of the complex.
