Lewiston, a village of fewer than 50 residents, now has one of the few post-tensioned concrete running tracks in the region.
The post-tensioned system offers a lifespan two to three times longer than asphalt, ensuring durability without burdening future generations with costly replacements.

Challenge Met
Nemaha proposed a post-tensioned concrete running track — a system with two to three times the lifespan of traditional asphalt. By walking community members through the life-cycle costs and maintenance requirements, Nemaha helped them see that this solution would not burden future generations with expensive repairs or replacement. The result was a one-of-a-kind facility for a town its size, balancing the donor’s vision with the community’s desire for lasting value.
